There are a couple ways to connect your iPad to a TV. To do so you will need a few things: an HDMI cable, a Lightning Digital AV Adapter or a USB C HDMI Adapter (For newer iPads) and a TV with an HDMI port. Once you have all of these items, follow these steps to connect your iPhone to your TV:
- Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on your TV.
- Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the Lightning Digital AV Adapter or USB C HDMI Adapter.
- Plug the Lightning end of the adapter into your older iPad or the USB C HDMI Adapter into your newer iPad.
- Turn on your TV and select the correct HDMI input using your TV’s remote control.
- On your iPad, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the Control Center.
- Tap the “Screen Mirroring” button in the Control Center.
- Select your TV from the list of available devices.
At this point, your iPad’s screen should be mirrored on your TV. This means that anything you do on your iPad, such as watching a video or playing a game, will also be displayed on your TV. To disconnect your iPad from your TV, simply unplug the HDMI cable or adapter. Note: Some apps have restrictions for playing or streaming video via an HDMI adapter.

How to connect an iPad to my TV without Apple TV?
There are a few different options for connecting an iPad to a TV without using an Apple TV. One option is to use a lightning or USB C adapter that allows you to connect to the TV directly via an HDMI cable. The steps to do this are above once you’ve found the adapter that works with your version of the iPad.
Another option for connecting an iPad to a TV without using an Apple TV is to use a wireless connection, such as Airplay or Miracast. Many newer TVs like Vizio, LG, and Samsung have Airplay built directly into the TV. You just need to select it as an input and then broadcast your iPad screen mirroring to the TV following the steps listed above.
To use Miracast, both the TV and the iPad must support the Miracast standard and be connected to the same WiFi network. You’ll also need to have an app on the iPad that supports the version of Miracast used by your TV. There are a lot of different apps that claim to add Miracast capabilities to the iPad in the app store. Some apps also have Miracast built into them directly.
